MGH Healing Garden

Architectural design for rooftop hospital healing garden and pavilion in Boston

Cambridge Seven Associates, working with landscape firm Halvorson Design Partnership, designed the 8,000-square-foot Healing Garden atop the eighth floor roof adjacent to the Cancer Center in the MGH Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, also designed by C7A. The Healing Garden at Massachusetts General Hospital allows patients and visitors to enter into a landscaped setting for rest and solace while an enclosed, glazed pavilion provides shelter from the elements. Designed to be used as a year round respite from the hospital for those patients and friends who frequent the Cancer Center, the Healing Garden's location offers extraordinary views of the Boston skyline and Charles River Basin.
